    Posted: Wednesday February 11, 2026

The City of Brockville joins communities across Canada in mourning the tragic loss of life following the recent events in Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia.

In recognition of the lives lost, flags behind City Hall have been lowered to half-mast for seven days.

We extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims, as well to the broader Tumbler Ridge community during this incredibly difficult time.

“On behalf of the City of Brockville, I extend our deepest condolences to the loved ones of the victims, as well as to the entire community of Tumbler Ridge, BC. As a gesture of sympathy, we will lower our flags and stand in solidarity as fellow Canadians at this extremely sad time.” — Mayor Matt Wren

Lowering the flags serves as a symbol of remembrance, respect, and national unity during a profoundly difficult moment.
