Remembrance Day will be observed with a civic ceremony on Tuesday November 11, 2025. Please note that City of Brockville services and facilities run as usual.
Civic Ceremony
We join our nation and come together to pause and pay respect to those who bravely fought and died and to those who were wounded or continue to “Stand on Guard” to preserve freedom and peace.
The City’s Civic Service of Remembrance takes place at the King Street Cenotaph located at the base of Court House Avenue. On Tuesday, November 11, 2025, dignitaries and service members meet at 10:45 am in front of City Hall with a procession on King Street heading West where the outdoor ceremony will begin at the Court House Avenue Cenotaph.
Ways to remember and honour on Remembrance Day
This might include:
- wearing a poppy
- Purchase a wreath or poppy from the Royal Canadian Legion. To order a wreath, please contact the Brockville Legion Branch 96, at 613-345-0473
- observing a two-minute silence on November 11 at 11:00 am
- visiting a memorial or war cemetery
- learning about those who served
Road Closures
From 10:00 am to 12:00 pm:
- Closure # 1: King Street East @ Market Street West
- Closure # 2: King Street West @ Broad Street
- Closure # 3: King Street West @ St. Andrew Street
- Closure # 4: Court House Avenue North & South @ Court House Square
We recognize the courage and sacrifices made by those who served our country, fighting for peace
We honour Canada’s veterans and remember the sacrifice they have made for our freedom.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
