The City of Brockville will begin its annual road rehabilitation program on various streets throughout the city on Monday, August 10, with work expected to be completed by September 18.
Work will involve removing the top 40 mm (1½ inches) of asphalt using a cold milling process and replacing it with new hot mix asphalt in the weeks that follow. Construction will be completed by G. Tackaberry & Sons Construction Co. Ltd.
Construction activities will be supervised by the City of Brockville’s Engineering Division.
Construction Update – August 21, 2026
On Monday, August 24, 2026, construction is scheduled to take place on Reynolds Drive and Central Avenue with the following traffic implications:
- Reynolds Drive from North Augusta Road to Salisbury Avenue – no westbound traffic permitted during the morning.
- Central Avenue from Stewart Boulevard to Balmoral Place – no eastbound traffic permitted during the afternoon.
Motorists are encouraged to follow posted signage, allow extra travel time, and use alternate routes where possible.
What Residents Can Expect
Residents and motorists should anticipate temporary traffic impacts, including lane restrictions, delays, noise, and construction equipment in work areas while rehabilitation is underway.
Every effort will be made to minimize disruptions and maintain access where possible throughout the project.
The City will provide updates on construction schedules, affected streets, and traffic impacts as work progresses.
