Transit Operator (Part-Time)

The Corporation of the City of Brockville invites applications from qualified and interested candidates for a part-time Transit Operator position in the C.U.P.E. – 115 bargaining unit in the Transit Division within the Operations Department. Note this position may be required to operate both the conventional bus and para transit.

To meet the needs of the schedule, part-time transit drivers are expected to be available for shifts in the morning, afternoon and evening as well as Saturdays. Emergency call-in shifts are available, and at times can be on short notice.

Applicants must have a secondary school diploma or equivalent education and possess a valid B or C Class driver’s license. As a condition of employment, at the time of job offer applicants must have a clean driver’s abstract and be able to provide a criminal record check that is satisfactory to the employer. Excellent interpersonal skills and the desire to work with the public on a daily basis is also an asset.
