Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat do I do with my leaf and yard waste?
Leaves and yard waste can be brought to the City’s Compost Site at 251 North Augusta Rd. The site is open April to November. Leaves and soft-stemmed plants are free to drop-off. Please use reusable containers, paper bags, or de-bag your plastic bags on site. NO weeds or grass clippings please. A small fee applies for brush (starting at $3 per car load; $6 for truck, van, SUV, or trailer >10 ft.; $8 for a car & trailer; $11 for a truck & trailer; and $20 for a trailer >10ft in length or tandem wheels). Don’t forget, you can take home two free wheelbarrows full (approximately 2-3 garbage bags) of compost for FREE per resident per year. Larger quantities of compost are also available for sale (contact 613-342-8772 ext. 3220 for more details). The available compost meets Category AA standards and is suitable for use on all gardens. 2022 Compost site hours are: April 4 – Sept. 2: Monday to Friday: 2 p.m. – 7 p.m. Sept. 6 – Oct. 28: Monday to Friday: 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. Oct. 31 – Nov. 25: Monday to Friday: 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. Saturdays: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. *(until site closes on Nov. 25th, 2022) Compost site is closed on Statutory holidays.
