NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING CONCERNING THE

CITY OF BROCKVILLE 2019 DEVELOPMENT CHARGES BACKGROUND REVIEW

The Planning and Operations Committee of the City of Brockville will be holding a Public Meeting to give the public an opportunity to make representations concerning the 2019 Development Charges Background Review.  More information can be found here:

As required under the Development Charges Act (D.C.A.), as amended, 1997 (s.10) the City of Brockville has contracted with Watson & Associates Economists Ltd to undertake a Development Charges Background Study.

As required under the D.C.A the D.C. Background Study, containing the proposed D.C. by-law, is to be distributed to members of the public in order to provide interested parties with sufficient background information on the legislation, the study’s recommendations, and an outline of the basis for these recommendations.

This public consultation will commence on November 4, 2019 and will be completed on January 3, 2020 at 11.59 pm (60 days)

Any person may attend this Public Meeting and make written or oral representations in support of, or opposition to, the proposed amendments.  Written submissions from persons not attending the meeting should be received by the Planning Department, City Hall, One King Street West, P.O. Box 5000, Brockville, Ontario K6V 7A5, by 27 November 2019.

Please note: Personal information is collected pursuant to Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection Privacy Act. Comments and opinion submitted on these matters become part of the public record and may be viewed by the general public; and may be published in a Planning Report and Council Agenda. Written requests for notification of the adoption of the proposed Development Charge By-law must be made to the Acting Director of Planning for the City of Brockville at the address provided above.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at the Public Meeting or make written submissions to the City of Brockville before a decision is granted respecting the proposed Development Charges By-law, the person or public body:

is not entitled to appeal the decision of the City of Brockville to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal; and
may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.”
