Leaves and yard waste can be brought to the City’s Compost Site at 251 North Augusta Rd. The site is open April to November. Leaves and soft-stemmed plants are free to drop-off. Please use reusable containers, paper bags, or de-bag your plastic bags on site. NO weeds or grass clippings please. A small fee applies for brush (starting at $3 per car load; $6 for truck, van, SUV, or trailer <10 ft.; $8 for a car & trailer; $11 for a truck & trailer; and $20 for a trailer >10ft in length or tandem wheels). Don’t forget, you can take home two free wheelbarrows full (approximately 2-3 garbage bags) of compost for FREE per resident per year. Larger quantities of compost are also available for sale (contact 613-342-8772 ext. 3220 for more details). The available compost meets Category AA standards and is suitable for use on all gardens.
2017 Compost site hours are:
April 3 – Sept. 1: Monday to Friday: 2 p.m.–7 p.m.
Sept. 5 – Oct. 27: Monday to Friday: 1 p.m.–6 p.m.
Oct. 30 – Nov. 30: Monday to Friday: 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Open all Saturdays: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. *(until site closes on Nov. 30, 2017)
Closed on stat holidays.

Waste Collection Calendar Dates to Remember!
-Community Treasure Days: June 17th and September 16th, 2017- The garage sale where everything is free! Leave any unwanted but still useful items at the curb by 9 a.m. Remove any uncollected treasures from the curb and cease collecting by 6 p.m. Please do not remove items from anyone’s property- only collect items from the curb.
-Municipal Household Hazardous Waste Day: September 9th, 2017, 8am-2pm- For residents of Brockville to drop off free-of-charge any hazardous materials generated from their individual households. Located at the Brockville Centennial Youth Arena- 138 Broadway Ave (*one-way traffic- please access site from Oxford Ave).
-Fall Leaf Collections: Week of October 23rd to 27th, 2017 and November 13th to 17th, 2017- Put out leaves for collection in paper bags or reusable containers ONLY before 7 a.m. on your regular collection day during these two weeks. Leaves in plastics bags will NOT be collected.
-Christmas Tree Collection: January 8th to the 12th, 2018- Put your natural Christmas trees only out on your regular collection day during this week. Please remove ALL decorations, tinsel, tree stands, nails, wire, tree bags, etc. Trees taller than 6’ will not fit on the truck and must be cut in half (Do not place on top of snowbanks).
