Tunnel Bay Rink Status & Skating Information
The Tunnel Bay Rink is open daily when conditions are favourable.
Ice surfaces are monitored and inspected each day to ensure safety. When conditions allow, the rink is open around the clock, with temporary closures only occurring for scheduled maintenance or if conditions are deemed unsafe. Public Skating only – No hockey.
Ice Maintenance Schedule
Weather permitting, ice maintenance will be completed on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Skaters are asked to avoid the rink during these times, as the surface will be closed for maintenance.
Rink Layout & Amenities
As seasonal docks remain in the harbour throughout the winter, a portion of the docks is used to provide a convenient area for skaters to tie their skates. The skating surface itself is a kidney-shaped loop, offering a unique skating experience rather than a traditional oval rink.
Residents and visitors are reminded to skate at their own risk and to respect posted signage and closures for everyone’s safety.
