    Notice to Applicants •This is not valid: - On Ministry of Transportation highways or local roads under the jurisdiction of the surrounding areas municipality; - On roads or structures otherwise restricted by Municipal By-Law. •The use of any road or structure may be restricted at any time. •A current certificate of liability insurance in the amount of at least five million ($5,000,000.00)naming the City of Brockville as an additional insured. This certificate must accompany theapplication. •Notwithstanding the issuance of this permit, and where applicable, the Public CommercialVehicle Act and the Motor Vehicle Act apply. •The original of this permit must be carried in the vehicle and produced upon demand of a policeofficer or an officer appointed for carrying out the provisions of the Highway Traffic Act. •The applicant agrees for their, their heirs, executors, and administrators to indemnify and savehaving the City of Brockville from any action, damage, or loss whatsoever arising from operationcarried out under this permit. Annual Permit Overall Weight Authorized weights for the transportation of indivisible loads: •Weight on tires not to exceed eleven kilograms (11 kg) per millimetre width as embossed on thetire sidewalls; •Weights shall not exceed the Manufacturers Rated Capacity of any vehicle or tire component; •Weight limit on a single axle other than a front axle shall be as per Highway Traffic Act plus five thousand (5,000 kg); •Weight limit on tandem axles or two axle groups shall be as per Highway Traffic Act plus seven thousand (7,000 kg); •Weight limit on all other axle units and groups: oWith a total spread of less than 3.6 metres shall be as per Highway Traffic Act plus nine thousand (9,000 kg); - With a total spread of 3.6 metres or greater shall be as per Highway Traffic Act plus ten thousand (10,000 kg). Gross Weight Limit For: •Tractors drawing a two axle trailer – fifty five thousand (55,000 kg) •Tractors drawing a trailer having three or more axles with a base length of equal to or less than16.5 metres, the lesser of Highway Traffic Act, Reg 597 plus ten thousand (10,000 kg) or sixtythree thousand five hundred (63,500 kg) •Tractors drawing a trailer having three or more axles with a base length greater than 16.5metres, the lesser of Highway Traffic Act, Reg 597 plus thirteen thousand (13,000 kg) or sixtythree thousand five hundred (63,500 kg) •Registered gross weight at least the lesser of sixty three thousand five hundred (63,500 kg) oractual gross weight Conditions •Where a Permit is issued in respect of: - Height: The load shall not be composed of articles loaded one on top of the other oWidth: The load shall not be composed of articles loaded by side or crosswise - Length: The load shall not be composed of articles one behind the other and any overhang to the rear shall not exceed 4.6 metres from the center of the rear most axle - Weight: The load shall not be composed of more than one article When crossing bridges, vehicles of over 45 tonnes gross weight must use the center of the roadway and be operated at the lowest practicable speed. Bridge postings and half load restrictions pursuant to Part VIII of the Highway Traffic Act apply •Vehicles and loads in excess of the width and/or length prescribed under Section 109 of the Highway Traffic Act shall be marked with four or more flags, one as near as practicable to each corner of the vehicle or load. The flags shall be bright in colour and be a minimum of 400 mm square. Where the flags are at the rear of the vehicle or load, they shall be not less than 2meters above the highway surface. Where a vehicle or load is wider at any point or points on either side than at the corner, it shall where practicable, be so marked with such a flag at the widest point on each side. •Vehicles and loads in excess of the length prescribed under Section 109 of the Highway Traffic Act shall in addition to the flags required under Condition B, displayed on the rear, in a clearly visible position a sign bearing the words “LONG LOAD” in black letters at least 200mm high with lines forming the letters at least 30mm wide on a yellow background. •Where a permit is issued on condition the permit holder provide escort protection, the escortvehicles shall precede the vehicle and load on a two lane highway or follow the vehicle and loadon a four lane highway at a distance of 150 metres bearing a sign reading “CAUTION OVERSIZELOAD FOLLOWS” or “CAUTION OVERSIZE LOAD AHEAD” as the case may be in black letters atleast 200mm high with lines forming the letters at least 30mm wide on a yellow background. •The City of Brockville reserves the right to determine when private or police escorts are requireddependent upon the agreed route. •This permit does not exempt the applicant/mover from obtaining other pertinentpermits/approvals normally required.
