Commemorative Bench and Tree Program

Commemorative Trees

Upon receipt of an commemorative tree order form, names are placed on a waiting list in order of date received.

The 2025 cost of a Commemorative Tree is $1,440.75 ($1,275.00 + $165.75 HST)

The number of Commemorative Trees is limited to a maximum of twelve per year, subject to City resources.

The bronze plaques are rectangular (6” wide x 8” high), mounted on a metal post with a brief, customized inscription, installed at the base of the Commemorative Tree.

The deadline for submission, including payment in full, is August 1, or when we reach twelve trees, for planting in mid October. In the summer prior to planting, an appointment must be booked with Parks Staff to select an acceptable location. Once planted, the tree becomes the sole responsibility of the Operations Department.

Commemorative Benches

Upon receipt of an commemorative bench order form, names are placed on a waiting list in order of date received.

The 2025 cost of a Commemorative Bench (low-maintenance, metal bench with three arm rests) is $2,938 ($2,600.00 + $338.00 HST). If required, a concrete pad for the bench is  $565.00 ($500.00 + $65.00 HST)

The number of Commemorative Benches is limited to five per year, subject to City resources.

The deadline for submission, including payment in full, is August 1, or when we reach five benches, for installation in the spring. The bronze plaques are oval (8” wide x 6” high), mounted on the centre of the back of the bench, with a brief, customized inscription.

Available locations for Commemorative Benches are very limited therefore an appointment must be booked with Parks Staff to select an acceptable location. Depending upon the selected Commemorative Bench location, a concrete pad may be required at an additional cost.
