John Taylor Park Development Project

Project Overview

The City of Brockville is developing the public park space in downtown Brockville to honour the memory and legacy of the late John Taylor, former Chair of the Brock Trail Committee.

Located adjacent to St. Paul Street and the historic grist mill sluiceway of Buell’s Creek, the project will transform an existing green space into a welcoming public destination that celebrates both Brockville’s natural features and John Taylor’s significant contributions to the Brock Trail system.

Planned improvements include:

New seating area overlooking the historic stone sluiceway
Upgrades to the Brock Trail pathway and access to the gorge
Decorative steel family silhouette installation
Decorative steel fencing
Landscaping enhancements
Additional park lighting
New park signage
Commemorative plaque recognizing John Taylor

Kehoe Construction was awarded the construction contract for the project and is scheduled to begin work on August 10, 2026. Construction is anticipated to be completed in fall 2026.

Project Objective

The primary objective of this project is to create a dedicated public park space that honours the legacy and contributions of John Taylor, former Chair of the Brock Trail Committee, while enhancing the Brock Trail experience and celebrating a significant natural and historical feature within downtown Brockville.
