Brockville Legacy Fund
Targeted to Funding Recreational and Cultural Capital Projects
The allocation committee consists of two members of City Council and the two most recent Citizens of the Year. Qualifying projects will be determined by this four-person committee.
Criteria
- Eligibility – the Brockville Legacy Fund is a capital grant. We do not fund operating costs, for instance insurance or rentals. The funds must be used to purchase an asset.
- Community needs – Projects that most help address a community need.
- Project scope – A clear idea of what the benefit to the community is and the likelihood of success of the project.
Background
The City’s Legacy Fund was established in 2009 with an allocation of $200,000 from the City of Brockville into a fund under the management of the Brockville Community Foundation. Annual earnings from the invested funds, less a 2% management fee, are distributed to Brockville organizations.
The 2026 Legacy Fund application process was completed April 30, 2026
The next opportunity to apply for funding will begin March 2027.
The 2026 Legacy Fund Allocations:
The 2026 fund had $9,530 available to grant with eight (8) applications received.
- Arts Hub Brockville: $ 1,500
- Brock Trail Advisory Committee: $ 4,000
- Municipal Heritage Committee: $ 2,000
- Ontario SPCA and Humane Society Leeds and Grenville: $ 2,030
The application form will be reactivated and visible early March 2027 when the next process begins.
