Statement from the City of Brockville: Brockville Public Library Investigation

On March 30, 2026, Brockville Police Service charged a former Brockville Public Library CEO for matters dating back to 2023 and 2024.

The City of Brockville initiated an internal investigation at the Library in December 2024. In June 2025, the Brockville Police Service began its own investigation. Information gained from the internal investigation was provided to Brockville Police in August 2025.

All employers have legal and professional responsibilities to maintain a certain amount of confidentiality when discussing matters related to employees – past and present. We will respect those obligations.

This matter is now before the courts.
